How smoking affects the Body?

We all are aware that smoking is hazardous to both our health and as well as to those who are passive smokers or secondhand smokers. But why is it that instead of quitting smoke after knowing its negative effects, smokers still tolerate their cravings for it?

Aren’t they aware that smoking causes lung ailments such as Lung Cancers? Smoking also causes chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), it is actually a group of diseases such as asthma, bronchitis and chronic bronchitis, and emphysema.  If one has COPD, it is actually hard for them to breathe.  The sad part about this is that there are as of now, no cure found for these kinds of diseases. You can minimize it, but never cure.

Smoking also has bad effects on one’s heart.  Nicotine in tobacco causes the blood pressure to increase and to develop blood clot which often times leads to dreadful diseases. Carbon Monoxide steals away the blood oxygen and leads to the development of cholesterol stored in artery walls which of course leads to heart attacks.

Knowing these effects, wouldn’t it be great if smokers are to stop smoking? Considering that they are not only hurting themselves by smoking, they also harm the people around the, who doesn’t even know how to smoke!

Another cure brought by Broccoli and Cauliflower

Vegetables are always known to be healthy food for us, but a new discovery by scientist states that broccolis and cauliflower have additional health benefits.

The latest discovery states that broccolis and cauliflower has a cancer-fighting element that selectively kills diseased cells while leaving the normal cells healthy.

The Oregon State University Researchers demonstrated that a phytochemical element found in cruciferous vegetables which is called sulforaphane was able to selectively target cancer cells in prostate patients and leave their normal cells healthy, unlike the traditional chemotherapies.

Another research study from the University of Michigan in the previous year also found out that sulforaphane targeted and killed cancer stem cells in animals and prevented the development of new tumors.

The research studies recommended that the men should consume at least 139grams of raw broccoli and 248grams of fresh tomatoes or one cup of tomato sauce for fruitful results.
